Origins of the High Lord
Background Story: Book 1: The Beginning
It is the third era of the Etera sun and the dawn of the Age of the Fall. The nation of the Dark Empire has taken the world and is ruled by the High Lord. He is an ordinary human man in some respect, but in ways that confound most of the inhabitants of Etera, he can do extraordinary things. He came from the small western white city called Efelya, but those who lived there say he came from the Mount of Fate. They say some children on the outskirts of city found him battle weary, with torn clothing, carrying a mixed-colored sword and bearing two tattoos marking on his body when they found him. The markings resembled the ones on his sword two crescent moons, one white and one dark, the color of his sword was similar half white and half black.
He had retained no knowledge of who he was or where he came from, all he said to those who nursed him back to health is that, "I am of the world, neither of light or dark. I am the balanced of the two." And so he repeated that for as long as they could remember, he quietly became a member of their community and just became an ordinary man.
Then one day something changed, and strange aura was in the sky. The once bright orange sun of the world became black and the moons changed color, one became blue and the other red; as well as each had a strange crescent appear in the middle of them with colors matching the marking on his body and his sword. He quickly ran into what he had called home and grabbed that sword and walked back out with it dragging it behind him.
He walked to the center of town and yelled at the top of his lungs. People of the Great city of Efelya, this is the first day of the age of the fall, I will protect you as you have nursed me back to health. There are things of unbound light and darkness to come prepare yourselves for the rise of beings not seen since the beginning of the world. As long as you stand with me, neither side will ever touch you. For here is where I stand in this Great city, now sacred and holy ground.
After those words, they say he walked into the mists that had formed around the city, dragging his sword with a grimace of revelation on his face. It was also the last day the citizens of Efelya would see him, but they heard how he walked the world of Etera and conquer all with a growing army of beings of light and darkness.
His knights spread his word, and his dark warriors spread his dominion. There was balance, but as all things go in the world, as powerful as he was, he could not control fate. An on the world of Etera, fate has a nasty habit of changing things for the next to rise to lead the world. Those markings he bore on his body will appear on many others, but they will be separate. But the two moons will appear together on his children to what is to become his empire, and the ironic thing is they will come to betray him. But this is only the beginning of story...the rest is yet to come!
